I will be offline until I return from a conference on Sunday. Here are a few reminders:
—Chaucer Students: Dr. McLaughlin will be guest lecturing on Thursday in our regular room, 142; the subject will be The Wife of Bath. She will collect any response papers; topics are wide open. Remember: we will be meeting in Room 264 on Tuesday, October 17th.
—Tolkien Students: Response topics for next week are open. We can look forward to a number of presentations next Tuesday on topics ranging from fairy tales to mythology to Wagnerian opera. We will be discussing The Two Towers and The Battle of Maldon.
